He majored in Four Gentlemen (Sagunja) at Hongik University and studied under Master Chojeong Kwon Chang-ryun. He is the recipient of the Presidential Letter of Appreciation, the Prime Minister's Commendation, and the Minister of Justice Award. He also received the Korean Fine Arts Association (KFAA) Chairman's Award and the Korean Federation of Arts and Culture Organizations (YeChong) President's Award. He has a stele inscribed in the Guilin Forest of Steles Park in China. He has served as a Judge for various calligraphy and painting exhibitions. He is the President of the Korea Family Motto Association, having held over 1,500 national family motto exhibitions. He is the creator and holder of the Seokcheon and Baeksong calligraphic styles (HY Baeksong B), and serves as the President of the Korea Arts Association and Honorary President of the Korean Fine Arts Association (KFAA).
