She founded the Jang Mi-young Dance Company in 1994 (with over 100 original choreographies/performances). She received the Highest Excellence Award at the Jeonnam Dance Festival 3 times and the Silver Award 2 times. She completed the Ph.D. program at the Chosun University College of Physical Education and the Ph.D. program at SAIDI (Southeastern Asian Interdisciplinary Development Institute) in the Philippines. She completed training at the New York Peri Dance Space and the American Dance Festival Seoul. She provided instruction and choreography for the 38th National Junior Sports Festival and the 89th National Sports Festival. She serves as the Artistic Director and Representative Director of the Jang Mi-young Dance Company.
