Field: Korean Folk Painting (Minhwa)

He serves as the Head of the Chungnam Chapter and the Boryeong Branch of the Korea Folk Painting Association (KFAA) and the Head of the Folk Painting Division of the Chungnam Chapter of the Korean Fine Arts Association (KFAA). He received the Highest Excellence Award at the 1st Korea Culture and Arts Exhibition (1984) and a Special Selection at the 2nd National Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition (1985). He was an Invited Artist at the Mariani Gallery, Colorado State University, and held 46 individual invitational exhibitions throughout Japan, sponsored by the Cultural Center of the Japanese Embassy and the Korean Residents Union in Japan Headquarters. He was an Invited Artist at the Paris International Exposition (supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism & the Cultural Heritage Administration) and has held over 20 domestic solo exhibitions at venues including Gwangju MBC, and Changwon/Busan/Daegu KBS, and the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts. He has received awards including the Minister of Science and Technology Award and the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Award, and has been designated an Invited Artist over 40 times in various art exhibitions.
