He graduated from the Graduate School of Saga University in Japan with a Master's degree (thesis on Korean Black Pottery). He was awarded prizes at the Kyushu Yamaguchi Ceramic Exhibition in Japan. He won the Gold Prize 17 times at the International Comprehensive Art Exhibition. He received the Creative Art Award from National Assembly Member Jeon Jae-soo. He was honored with the International Best Creative Art Grand Prize at the International Excellent Artist Invitational Exhibition. He holds the title of Master of International Culture and Arts in Ceramic Craft and received the Special Invited Artist Award at the International Comprehensive Art Exhibition.
