Kim Young-mi graduated from the Department of Home Economics at Dong-A University and the Department of Clothing and Fashion at the Graduate School of Korea National Open University.

She completed the High Fashion Course at Norano Academy, as well as fashion courses at the Korean Women's Development Institute, Incheon Polytechnic College, and Dongseo University.

She has received numerous awards, including commendations from the Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City, the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, and the President of the WorldSkills Korea Committee.

She served as a judge for the Busan and Ulsan Skills Competitions and possesses extensive experience in fashion instruction and evaluation. Currently, she serves as the Representative of the Mi Fashion Research Institute.
