He was appointed as an Advisory Committee Member for the Democratic Peaceful Unification by President Park Geun-hye in 2015. He received the Supreme Court Chief Justice's Commendation twice (No. 7917) in 2016. He received a Commendation from President Moon Jae-in in 2018.
